Bendigo District Astronomical Section

The members of the Bendigo District Astronomical Section (BDAS) of the Astronomical Society of Victoria Inc (ASV) have been actively promoting astronomy in the Bendigo region since 1988.

Members of the group have various interests in different fields of astronomy, but all share a passion for Space!

We have members with active interests in astrophotography, deep sky objects, radio astronomy as well as general visual astronomy.

We hold regular events such as public meetings, sidewalk astronomy nights, general club meetings, dark sky site nights and school star nights. Check out our Events page for details of upcoming events.

New Explorations in the Solar System 2018

Special Event - Everyone welcome

The Astronomical Society of Victoria Bendigo Section, invites you to 'New Explorations in the Solar System 2018', a presentation by Dr John Wilkinson.
Many new space probes are currently exploring the solar system in which we live. There have been new probes landing on asteroids in 2018, and others have just been sent to the Sun and outer planets. The latest findings will be outlined with amazing images from NASA, European Space Agency and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency.
When: Wednesday, November 14th, 7.30 pm - 9 pm.
Where: Discovery Science & Technology Centre. 7 Railway Place, Bendigo. (next to Bendigo Marketplace).
Cost: Gold coin donation.
